Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is an intensive care unit specializing in the care of ill or premature newborn infants. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Holy Cross Hospital, Ambikapur is the first unit to be established in the state of Chhattishgarh, Surguja district. It is recognized as a tertiary referral centre for high risk pregnancy and for preterm care. It is a 24 bedded unit catering to both inborn and out born babies. The unit is well equipped with ventilators, multichannel monitors, Phototherapy, pulse oximeters, infusion pumps, T piece resuscitators. The NICU has separate section as inborn, out born and septic Unit.
The goal of the unit has not only been survival but intact and optimal survival of the extreme preterm babies.
The paediatric Intensive Care Unit having a bed capacity of 8 is manned 24 hrs by skilful and specially trained staff. It is well equipped to look after all childhood emergencies.
Paediatric surgery deals with comprehensive surgical care of children, from newborns to 17 year olds. We recognise the special need of children and their anxious parents.
